How You Can Help College Ministry
OCF offers college students rich community in Christ, inspiring a life-long love of God and neighbor.
First, forgive me.
I’m a bit behind with the blog I’m writing for the Sunday of the Holy Cross.
(Which was a couple days ago, I know…)
One of the topics we’ve already explored on this Substack is the weird way we approach young adult ministry. But of course, it’s not all weird: there’s also great work in the Church that’s worthy of support.
And that’s why I’m sharing some exciting news from Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF).
As you might know, OCF is the official campus ministry of the Orthodox Church. It offers college students rich community in Christ, inspiring a life-long love of God and neighbor.
Not only am I blessed to serve on the Board of Directors, I’ve been a big supporter of this critical (and effective) ministry for years.
So why am I writing about OCF today?
Well, as you read this message, OCF is busy reimagining campus ministry in a BIG way!
Have you heard about our new Campus Missionaries? Here’s a brief one-pager that highlights this groundbreaking initiative:
The ministry of OCF is robust and making a real impact in the lives of college students. Some highlights from the 2022-23 academic year include:
The Campus Missionary Initiative (don’t forget to check out the PDF!)
Over 250 chapters on college campuses across the country
Over 250 students currently participating in a daily Lenten spiritual renewal
Student leadership training for chapter leaders
Two December College Conferences and approximately 300 students in attendance
26 students going on a pilgrimage to Egypt this May
Having worked with hundreds of college students over the years, I know that the work OCF is doing today with college students is vital for both the present and future of the Orthodox Church here in the United States.
We’re proud of the ways we are serving students. And we hope you’ll consider partnering with us as we keep them close to Christ during their college years.
So how can you do that?
Well, our Board is in the midst of a campaign to raise $40,000 during the 40 days of Lent.
Will you help us reach our goal with a donation today?
You can offer your donation here or mail a check payable to “Orthodox Christian Fellowship” to 50 Goddard Avenue, Brookline, MA 02445.
Our work at OCF is only possible because of the generosity of people like you—people who wrestle with the big questions behind ministry and support the good work that’s genuinely forming hearts for Christ.
I’m grateful for your tough questions and fervent prayers.
Thanks for reading and for helping support the work of OCF.
(And I hope to have that article on the Sunday of the Holy Cross ready to publish soon!)
EDIT: Here’s a short video I made for the OCF YouTube channel:
